THATS WHAT BUDDIES ARE FOR

buddy: A friend. A comrade.

During the last training session, we had the accompaniment of the squad players that definitely help make training more fun and enjoyable. We had a series of drills that introduced us to zone defence. As we all know, area defence, also known as zone defence and some say guarding the space requires the cooperation and help of team mates on court. Much communication is required in order to hinder the path of the opponents attack. Understanding of both the abilities of our teammates and the concept of zone defence is essential for a successful defensive effort.

After a gruelling training. Ok. It wasnt that bad, let me rephrase. After a good 2 hours of workout, the squad was introduced to what we know as " buddy stretches" These series of stretching exercises are meant to help fully release the tension that had accumulated within our tired muscles after training. In order to do the stretches efficiently, each player would need the help of another team mate and so we practiced team work again. : ) oh btw the buddy stretches really help release soreness in muscles although the stretch positions seem repugnant.

We recommend that all athletes do proper stretch down to ensure their muscles and body recovers optimally!

Stretch down and off the players head off to fill their hungry tummies. Admist the fellowship during dinner, the players interact and greater friendship bonds are fostered. Its always a pleasure to be able to play with teammates who are great friends whom we share many valuable experiences together.

so yeah. thats what buddies are for. The trainings, the cool down sessions, the off court experiences and most importantly the game. : ) Lets work hard for World Youth Championships. Push each other hard during trainings so we can all realise our potential and convert that potential to fulfillment.
